Award Winners!
Having beaten many worthy entrants in the Southern Staffordshire 2008 Regeneration Awards, Dunston Business Village scored 1st place in the "Business Contribution to Regeneration" class, showcasing the actions taken to ensure a benefit to both the company and local culture.

67 projects were considered by the Southern Staffordshire Partnership in an area not usually considered as a target for regeneration activity, the Awards hoping to focus more attention on companies who work towards improving local areas outside of the normal city and town locations.
To qualify for the award Dunston Business Village had to show the efforts it had taken to improve the local community via providing services and jobs in an positive manner, boosting local economy through increased usage of local services and suppliers, and engaging the wider community in a pro-active way.

Greener energy for a greener planet
We are now proud to announce a partnership with Green Energy UK, our electricity is now sourced from one of the UK’s greenest energy suppliers.

The greatest threat to the long-term survival of our planet is global warming. Growing a business that is ethical, responsible and constructive, as well as commercially sound, well - managed and secure is our response to that threat.
Green Energy UK only supply green electricity preferring to buy their power from a wide range of cleaner technologies rather than traditional electricity produced using fossil fuels. Green electricity can come from many different sources. Sources like hydro, solar and wind that are totally renewable are well known but Green Energy UK also buy electricity generated from biomass, (crops that are grown for energy production), electricity generated by gasifying organic waste including pig waste and waste vegetable matter as well as good quality combined heat and power from Ofgem accredited generators.
Green Energy UK have a policy of supporting emerging technologies and getting that energy to market. They estimate that 70% of the power they have under contract comes from generators who have started generating in the last 5 years. By using energy supplied by Green Energy UK businesses can reduce their carbon emissions and show their customers their environmental credentials. They can even put the Green Energy UK logo and stamp onto their literature and web site. Both the tariffs on offer from green energy uk are classed as levy exempt which means that businesses can avoid paying the Climate Change Levy so they can reduce both their taxation and their carbon emissions.
Green Energy UK are delighted to be supplying Dunston Business Village and believe it will be a great place to do business while helping to protect the environment for the future.
